Amir Aslan Aliyev
Early Life and EducationAmir Aslan Rza ogly Aliyev was born on August 30, 1960, in Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan. He graduated from Uzeyir Hajibeyov Secondary School No. 1 in 1971. Aliyev then served in the Soviet army from 1979 to 1981. In 1987, he obtained a degree from the History and Philology Faculty of Nakhichevan State Pedagogical Institute.
Military Service
In 1992, Aliyev was drafted into the Border Troops of Azerbaijan's Ministry of National Security. His exemplary service earned him the rank of Senior Lieutenant and later the position of Senior Staff Officer. In recognition of his contributions to border security, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor on October 8, 1994.
Heroic Sacrifice
On March 17, 1995, Senior Lieutenant Amir Aslan Aliyev played a heroic role in preventing a coup d'état. Tragically, he gave his life in the line of duty.
National Hero of Azerbaijan
By decree of the President of Azerbaijan on April 4, 1995, Aliyev was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan for his bravery and sacrifice.
Legacy
To commemorate Aliyev's heroism, the 12th outpost of the Nakhichevan Border Detachment was named after him. His memory continues to inspire patriotism and honor the sacrifices made for Azerbaijan's sovereignty.
