The Success of Mecano

After releasing seven albums and achieving tremendous success in Europe and Latin America, continuous touring began to negatively affect the musical collective. Ana suffered the most, experiencing vocal problems. In 1993, the group announced a temporary break-up. While José and Nacho released their solo albums, Ana decided to travel around the world. She visited Hawaii, Bombay, and New York, all the places where she once performed with 'Mecano'. Eventually, Torroja settled in New York and started taking dance lessons.
