Anatolii Khromov is a prominent Ukrainian historian, archivist, poet, state official, and philanthropist. He currently serves as the Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, a position he has held since December 3, 2019.
Early Life and Education
Born on November 5, 1985, in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, southern Ukraine, Anatolii Khromov is the son of Vladimir Vladimirovich and Lyubov Alekseevna Khromov. As a child, he excelled in poetry, winning awards in local competitions and publishing in regional newspapers. He also pursued sports, achieving the rank of Candidate Master of Sports in sports acrobatics.
In 2002, Khromov graduated from the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky City Lyceum. He then went on to study history at the Odessa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov, earning a Master's degree in 2007 and a Candidate of Historical Sciences degree in 2012.
Archival and Academic Career
Khromov's career in archives began in 2008 when he joined the State Archive of the Odessa Region. He played a pivotal role in the restoration and digitization of archival collections, making them accessible to the public. In 2013, he began teaching history at the Odessa National Medical University.
From 2016 to 2019, Khromov held various positions in the public and private sectors related to archival management and historical research. He was the Director of Production at Archival Information Systems and the Chief Specialist in the Scientific Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.

In November 2019, Khromov was appointed Head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine. Under his leadership, the Service has implemented innovative approaches to archival management, including the creation of a unified electronic archival system. In 2020, he was awarded the third rank of state civil servant.
Other Activities
In addition to his professional pursuits, Khromov is an active member of the scientific and cultural communities. He is a member of the editorial board of the academic journal "Archives of Ukraine". He has also completed a second Master's degree in Law from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2021.
Anatolii Khromov's contributions to Ukrainian history, archival science, and public life have earned him widespread recognition and respect. He continues to be a leading figure in the preservation and promotion of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
