Biography of Anatoly Lopukhov

Anatoly Lopukhov was born on April 17, 1926, in the mining town of Lotikovo, Slavyanoserbsk district, Voroshilovgrad region. Shortly after his birth, his parents moved to the city of Krasnodon, where Anatoly began his education at the A.M. Gorky Secondary School No. 1. He excelled academically and was the chairman of the student committee. In 1941, he became a member of the Komsomol (Young Communist League). In 1942, he completed his 8th grade studies.

During the fascist occupation, Anatoly joined the underground organization "Molodaya Gvardiya" (Young Guard). He wrote and distributed leaflets with his comrades, spreading anti-fascist propaganda. Anatoly actively participated in the destruction of enemy vehicles, replenishing the arsenal of the young guards with rifles, ammunition, and grenades. To maintain secrecy, he secured a position at the V.I. Lenin Club, where he closely monitored the repertoire of the participants in amateur artistic activities.

In January 1943, Anatoly Lopukhov managed to avoid arrest by leaving Krasnodon and hiding in mining settlements. In the area of Aleksandrovka, near Voroshilovgrad, he crossed the front line and voluntarily joined the ranks of the Soviet Army. He took part in battles to liberate Ukraine and was wounded on October 10, 1943. After being discharged from the hospital, he returned to his hometown, where he actively participated in the establishment of the "Molodaya Gvardiya" Museum and served as its director, conducting significant educational work among the youth.

In September 1944, Anatoly enrolled in the Leningrad Anti-Aircraft Artillery School. Upon completing his studies, he became a platoon commander and the secretary of the Komsomol bureau in the division's political department. Later, he served as an assistant to the head of the political department for Komsomol work at the school.

Anatoly Vladimirovich became a member of the Communist Party in 1948. In 1955, Captain Lopukhov was admitted to the V.I. Lenin Military-Political Academy, where he excelled in the program. After graduation, he served in various regions of the Soviet Union and was repeatedly elected as a deputy of city and regional Councils of People's Deputies. Anatoly Lopukhov is known for his extensive public work, always being an active assistant to the party in educating the younger generation on the heroic traditions of the Soviet people. Currently, Colonel Anatoly Vladimirovich Lopukhov resides in the city of Dnepropetrovsk.

For his participation in the Great Patriotic War and his involvement in the underground Komsomol organization "Molodaya Gvardiya," Anatoly Vladimirovich Lopukhov has been awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medals "Partisan of the Patriotic War" 1st degree and "For Courage".
