Francesco Acerbi: A Talented Defender from Pescara
Francesco Acerbi is an Italian professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Serie B club Pescara. Hailing from the youth academy of Empoli, Acerbi began his professional career with his hometown club in 2004 and remained there until 2006.
Move to Udinese and National Team Recognition
In January 2006, Serie A club Udinese acquired a 50% stake in Acerbi's rights. A year later, in the summer of 2007, Udinese secured the remaining half, making him a permanent member of their squad. Acerbi's impressive performances at Udinese earned him call-ups to the Italy U-21 youth team. He represented his country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as part of the Italian Olympic squad.
