Early Career and Position Shift

Andreas Görlitz, a German footballer, initially played as a midfielder for his hometown club, TSV 1860 Munich. His professional debut came on February 10, 2002, against 1. FC Nürnberg, but his appearances were limited in the following two seasons. However, during the 2003/04 campaign, Görlitz transitioned to the role of a defender, featuring in 32 matches and scoring his first goal on March 27, 2004, against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Transfer to Bayern Munich and Setback

In the summer of 2004, Görlitz signed for Bayern Munich, one of Germany's most prestigious clubs. While he featured in some early fixtures, his career took a dramatic turn on November 3 in a UEFA Champions League match against Juventus. A severe injury sidelined him for nearly two years.

Loan Spells and Return to Bayern

To regain match fitness, Görlitz was loaned out to Karlsruher SC in 2007. He became an integral part of their team, making only three appearances during the 2007/08 season. His loan was extended for another year before he rejoined Bayern Munich in 2009.
