Early Life and Education
Andriy Anatoliiovych Karpov was born on September 28, 1976, in Poltava, Ukraine. He attended school at Poltava Secondary School No. 9 and Vocational School No. 9 before pursuing higher education at Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University, where he received a degree in electrical mechanical engineering.
Career
After graduating from university, Karpov worked as the head of the advertising department at Dексипринт. In 2017, he became an official volunteer, and by February 2018, he had delivered approximately 1 million hryvnia in aid, along with thermal imagers and quadcopters, to the ATO zone.
Blogging
In 2017, Karpov was recognized as Ukraine's top blogger according to ICTV's official ratings. He achieved further recognition in 2018, ranking third in "Obzorvatel's" list of "Top 10 Ukrainian Bloggers."
Political Career
Karpov participated in the 2019 snap parliamentary elections as a candidate for the European Solidarity party, occupying the 31st spot on the party list.
"Vata Show"
Karpov rose to prominence with his own project, "Vata Show," on the YouTube channel of the same name. Primarily focused on political discussions with Russians on "Chat Roulette," the channel has garnered over 235,000 subscribers.
Since 2018, "Vata Show" has been broadcast on the Ukrainian television channel Pryamyi, with Karpov serving as its host. The show's premiere episode sparked a scandal in Russia, with Russian television condemning the show and its format. Journalist Hala Sklyarevska criticized the show, comparing it to "Russian TV products" and remarking that "watching either one is equally shameful."
