Childhood and Education

Andrey Novák was born into a family with strong ties to education and economics. His father, Yarema Volodymyrovych Novák, was the director of the Kolomyia College of Law and Business, while his mother, Sofia Ivanovna Novák, was a music teacher.

Novák received his education at the European University in Kyiv. Simultaneously, he attended the University of Western Ontario's Ivey Business School as part of the "Learn While You Work" program in 1993. Later, from 1997 to 2001, he pursued a postgraduate degree at the Scientific Research Finance Institute of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance. He obtained his doctorate in Economics from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.

Early Career

Before embarking on his academic and political pursuits, Novák worked in various roles. He was employed at the Joint Stock Company "Standard-95" and later spent four years as a commercial agent for television programs.

Political Involvement

Novák's interest in politics became evident in 1998, when he served as an advisor on media and public relations for a political party during the Ukrainian parliamentary elections. In 2002, he ran as an independent candidate for the Ukrainian parliament.

Economic Expertise and Publications

In 2006, Novák's reputation as an economic expert was solidified with the publication of his book "How to Raise the Ukrainian Economy." In it, he proposed the Tri-Functional Economic Model of Ukraine as a blueprint for a competitive and efficient economy. The book was reissued twice more in 2007 and 2011.

Political Leadership

Novák's political career reached new heights in 2012 when he was elected Chairman of the Ukrainian Party. However, his membership in the party ended in April 2013.

In 2019, Novák announced his candidacy for the Ukrainian presidential election.

Other Contributions

In addition to his political and economic work, Novák has also made significant contributions in other fields. He served as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Ukrainian World Economic Forum and initiated the Alternative Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine project. He was also appointed Prorector of the European University in 2011.
