Early Life and Education

Andrey Prokopenko embarked on his educational journey at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he purposedly pursued philosophical inquiry. His academic fervor propelled him to earn a degree from the esteemed university's philosophical faculty in 2003. Driven by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, he embarked on a research endeavor that culminated in a PhD in Philosophy in 2007.

Professional Experience

Prokopenko immersed himself in the field of social impact by serving as the Deputy Director of the "Youth Alternative" NGO and Executive Director of the "Institute of Social Development Processes." In 2007, he embarked on an entrepreneurial path, establishing his own ventures. His expertise was further honed during his tenure as a Partner and Practice Leader for Ukraine at the GR Research & Consulting Center from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, he held the position of Advisor to the Vice President of TNK-BP, spearheading the company's communications and corporate media department from 2012 to 2013.

Political Involvement

Prokopenko's political journey commenced in 2015, when he was elected as a Deputy of the Chernihiv Regional Council, representing the "Our Land" party. His parliamentary contributions were significant, as he chaired the Standing Committee on Housing and Public Utilities, Transportation, and Infrastructure. During the 2019 Verkhovna Rada elections, Prokopenko played a pivotal role as the Head of the Odesa Regional Headquarters for the "Servant of the People" party.

Appointment as Governor

Prokopenko's political acumen and dedication to public service were recognized when the Cabinet of Ministers endorsed his appointment as the Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration on October 20, 2019. His tenure lasted from October 31, 2019, until October 13, 2020.
