Andrey Saminin is a Russian and Ukrainian actor of theater and film, as well as a theater director. He made his film debut in 1994 with a small role in the film "Vetry". However, his first recognition as an actor came in China, after starring in the film "How the Steel Was Tempered", where he played the lead role of Pavel Korchagin.

Andrey Saminin was born on April 26, 1974, into a theater family. His mother is a well-known theater actress in Ukraine. He grew up in the theater, being on stage, in costume rooms, in makeup rooms, and in prop workshops since childhood. He recalls his first appearance on stage when he was just a year old, when his mother brought him out to receive applause from the audience. While his parents allowed him to choose his own profession, they also hoped that he would follow in their footsteps. And he chose the stage.

In 1995, he graduated from the Kiev Institute of Theater Arts named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary, under the guidance of the People's Artist of Ukraine M.M. Rushkovsky. Since 1997, he has been serving in the Kiev Academic Drama and Comedy Theater on the left bank of the Dnieper River. He has played numerous roles in the theater, including Kurchaev in "I am Needed, Gentlemen!" by A. Ostrovsky, Vicomte de Nanjac in "An Ideal Husband" by Oscar Wilde, Eraste in "Much Ado About Paris" by Molière, Tybalt in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", Mikhail Khrushchev in "26 Rooms..." by Chekhov, Andrei Prozorov in Chekhov's "Three Sisters", Don Juan in "Guests are Coming at Midnight" by A. Miller, Rakitin in the production "The Highest Good in the World..." by I. Turgenev, and many others. He also has experience in theater directing.

In 2009, together with actor and director Kobzar, he wrote an adaptation and staged the play "Playing Chonkin" based on the novel by Vladimir Voinovich, "The Life and Extraordinary Adventures of Soldier Ivan Chonkin".

He has played a wide range of roles, including villains, positive characters, criminals, police officers, doctors, artists, writers, and military personnel. Andrey Saminin is married to Ukrainian actress Lesya Samaeva, with whom he performs on the same theater stage. They met during their studies at the theater institute named after Karpenko-Kary. However, their romantic relationship began during the filming of the movie "How the Steel Was Tempered" in 1999 when Saminin played the role of Pavel Korchagin and Lesya played the role of Tonia Tumanova, with a love story between their characters in the script.

The couple has a daughter named Maria, who has also started her career in theater. Saminin tries to stay physically active, although he admits lacking the willpower to regularly visit the gym. Instead, he enjoys working with tools at his dacha, carving and repairing things made of wood.
