Early Life and Career

Andrei Shcherbakov was a Belarusian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Vitebsk, Belarus, he began his football career at the S.D.Y.U.S.H.O.R. "Dvina" youth academy, where he was coached by Yuri Vasilievich Komissarov.

Professional Career

In 2008, Shcherbakov signed his first professional contract with FC Vitebsk. He played for the club's reserve team before moving to BATE Borisov in 2010 for a transfer fee of $90,000. During his time at BATE, he helped the club win both the Belarusian Premier League and the Belarusian Super Cup in 2011.

Loan Spells

Shcherbakov went on loan to Vitebsk in February 2013 and then to FC Slutsk in August 2013. At Slutsk, he established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper and played a pivotal role in their First League victory.

He had subsequent loan spells at FC Belshina in 2014 and Brest Dynamo in 2015. However, he faced competition from other goalkeepers at these clubs and failed to secure a regular starting position.

Return to Belshina

After his contract with BATE expired in March 2015, Shcherbakov returned to Belshina and remained the club's second-choice goalkeeper.

International Career

Shcherbakov represented Belarus at various youth levels, including the U-21 team. He was also part of the Olympic team that participated in the 2012 London Olympics but did not play.

Tragic Death

On December 17, 2018, Andrei Shcherbakov, his wife, and their child were tragically killed in a car accident in Tolochin District, Belarus.
