Andrija Kujundžić: A Croatian Football Legend

Andrija Kujundžić was a renowned Yugoslav Croatian footballer and defender.

Early Football Career

Kujundžić began his football journey in 1912 with "Bačka," a Croatian community club in Subotica. He debuted for the club's reserve team at the age of 16 and made his senior team debut at 18. He remained a loyal player for "Bačka" throughout his career, playing until his retirement in 1929.

National Team Debut

Kujundžić made his debut for the Yugoslav national team in 1921 in a friendly match against Czechoslovakia. He played in one more friendly match for the national team before being named to the squad for the 1924 Olympics, although he did not make any appearances during the tournament.

Coaching Career

Towards the end of his playing career, Kujundžić transitioned into a player-coach role at "Bačka" in 1927. He went on to manage the club for 12 years, leading them to numerous successes. He later served as the club's president as well.

Later Life and Legacy

Kujundžić passed away at the age of 70 on October 11, 1970, in his hometown of Subotica. He is remembered as one of the most accomplished football players and coaches in Croatian history.
