Polish Chemist, Antibiotic Specialist, and Scout Leader

Early Life and Scouting Involvement

Born to Edward and Zofia, Janusz ROSIK joined the Polish Scouting Union in 1942. During World War II, he participated in the "Gray Ranks," a clandestine scouting organization. He held various leadership positions, including commander of the "Zawiszacy" troop in Otwock.

Education and Career

Rosik graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw. In 1952, he joined the Tarchomin Pharmaceutical Works as a technologist and later became secretary of the factory committee of the Polish United Workers' Party.

Political and Scouting Roles

Rosik served as a member of the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic from 1965 to 1972, representing the Polish United Workers' Party. He also held the position of vice chairman of the Capital Council of Friends of the Scouting Movement and worked as head of the History Department of the Polish Scouting Union in the 1990s.

Leadership of the Polish Scouting Union

In 2005, Rosik was elected chairman of the Polish Scouting Union. He held this position until 2007, when he resigned after losing the re-election to Adam Massalski.

Later Career and Legacy

Rosik served as a member of the Staff and director of the Museum of the Scouting Movement in Warsaw. He was a co-organizer of the Movement of Seniors and the National Council of Seniors and Elders.

Family and Burial

Rosik's brother, Feliks, led the rival organization "Union of Scouts of the Republic of Poland" from 1995 to 1999. Rosik is buried in the Powązki Military Cemetery.
