Early Life and Education

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Andrea Barone began her acting journey after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1986. She then earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University, where she studied under director and professor Robert T. Hazard.

Early Acting Career

Barone's first notable television appearance came in an episode of the fourth season of "Seinfeld" entitled "The Shoes." She played the role of Gail Cunningham, a demanding chef desperate for Elaine Benes' shoes. Throughout the early 1990s, she became a regular cast member on "Carol & Company" with Carol Burnett.

Breakthrough in "Friends"

In 1994, Barone landed the role of Carol Willick, Ross Geller's ex-wife, in the premiere episode of "Friends." However, she left the show after one appearance to pursue a more prominent role, and the character was recast with Jane Sibbett.

Sitcom Appearances

From 1995 to 1996, Barone starred in "The Jeff Foxworthy Show." In 2000, she played a role in the sitcom "Daddio." She went on to star in "War at Home" from 2005 to 2007, and made a cameo appearance on "Shake It Up" in 2010.

Barone has made numerous guest appearances in popular television shows, including "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Quantum Leap," "Empty Nest," "Chicago Hope," "Castle," "Do Not Disturb," "Ally McBeal," "Caroline in the City," "Party of Five," and "The Larry Sanders Show."
