Angelika Pomitun, a native of Simferopol, has been recognized as the most beautiful girl in Ukraine for two consecutive years. At the age of 20, she was left speechless when she was named the winner of the National Beauty and Talent Contest "Queen of Ukraine-2012". She emerged as the best among 26 girls in the country. Reflecting on her victory, Angelika shared, "I understood that the likelihood of receiving the golden crown was five percent out of a hundred. It's just unbelievable that girls from Simferopol have become the best two years in a row (in 2011, the competition was won by Lilia Kazachenko). By the way, four other students from Crimea also made it to the finals alongside me. We all formed a united team and were referred to as the 'Crimean mafia'. What do you think made you stand out in the eyes of the jury?"
Angelika believes that she was noticed during the "Queen of Crimea 2012" contest at the beginning of winter, where she secured the second place. However, she believes that her athletic character played a significant role in her victory. She has been professionally involved in track and field, fitness, swimming, and tennis since the age of 7. So, the drive to win has been instilled in her since childhood.
Interestingly, Angelika never participated in beauty contests during school or university, although like any other girl, she dreamed of becoming a queen. The Crimean competition was her first experience - she wanted to assert herself. Prior to this, she had no connection to the modeling industry and didn't know how to walk the runway or pose for a camera.
During the finals, Angelika received support from her parents (her mother is a housewife, and her father is a private entrepreneur) and the other Crimean participants. As for her love life, Angelika currently doesn't have a special someone, as she hasn't found someone worthy yet.
When her fellow Crimean, Lilia Kazachenko, handed her the winner's crown, Angelika describes the moment as indescribable. She cried tears of happiness. Looking ahead, she is set to participate in the World Beauty Contest in China, but for now, she is focused on her studies.
Angelika has already returned to Crimea from Kyiv and is fully immersed in her studies at the Vernadsky Taurida National University. She is studying management as well as physical education and sports.
Angelika's mother believes that her daughter deserved the victory due to her diligence and determination, qualities she has displayed since childhood. "She has a strong willpower, which is evident in everything she does, even in her eating habits. Sometimes, I bake something delicious in the oven, but Angelika will smell it and refuse it. For the sake of her figure, she eats cottage cheese, yogurt, cereals, and healthy salads. But occasionally, she indulges in her weakness and loves chocolate candies."
