Anna Dorosh: A Ballerina's Journey

Early Life and Training

Anna Dorosh was born on December 11, 1969, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. Despite her parents' non-theatrical background, she began ballet lessons at age six. Her talent was noticed early on, and she went on to study at the Novosibirsk Choreographic School.

Novosibirsk Years

During her eight years at Novosibirsk, Dorosh trained under renowned instructors such as N.V. Khmeleva, A.V. Nikiforova, A.V. Berdyshev, and L.V. Gershunova. She formed a remarkable partnership with Maxim Chepik, which became a hallmark of her career.

Professional Debut

In 1988, Dorosh graduated from the Novosibirsk Choreographic School and joined the Novosibirsk Theater of Opera and Ballet. In 1989, she moved to the Dnipropetrovsk Theater of Opera and Ballet, where she became a leading soloist. The partnership with Chepik flourished here, earning them acclaim.

National Opera of Ukraine

In 1999, Dorosh joined the National Opera of Ukraine as a prima ballerina. Under the guidance of педагоgue-repetitor Nikolai Pryadchenko, she continued to refine her artistry. In 2001, she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.

Choreographic Leadership

From 2004 to 2010, Dorosh headed the classical choreography department at the Kyiv Municipal Ukrainian Academy of Dance named after Serge Lifar. She passed on her knowledge and expertise to aspiring dancers.

International Recognition

Dorosh has performed internationally, touring countries such as Bulgaria, Japan, Hungary, France, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Argentina, and New Zealand. Her performances have received critical acclaim, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the art of ballet.
