Maryana Bezugla was born on April 15, 1982, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. With an exceptional academic record, she graduated with honors from the Dnipropetrovsk National University, earning a Master's degree in International Economics in 2004.
Concurrently, Bezugla pursued a degree in Law, graduating summa cum laude in 2004. Her pursuit of knowledge further extended to the Copenhagen Business School, where she received a grant for free tuition in 2002.
II. Political Career
Bezugla entered the political arena in 2019 as a member of the Servant of the People party. She successfully won the elections in Constituency 221 in Kyiv, defeating Leonid Ymets of the Holos party.
Within the Verkhovna Rada, Bezugla has served as a member of the Budget Committee and chaired its Subcommittee on State Investment Projects. She also heads the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and co-chairs the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with the United Arab Emirates.
III. Entrepreneurial Endeavors
Prior to her political career, Bezugla embarked on a diverse range of entrepreneurial ventures. At the young age of 22, she established her first business, importing food products from Europe to Ukraine.
Subsequently, she delved into the restaurant industry and international consulting for investment in Ukraine. Her expertise also extended to education, where she initiated several projects. In 2018, she co-founded the online library "Sluhay," offering free access to Ukrainian literature.
IV. Family Background
Maryana Bezugla's family upbringing has played a pivotal role in shaping her values. Her mother is a university professor of German language and literature, while her father is a rocket engineer at the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau.
Together with her husband, Bezugla has two daughters: Tatyana (born in 2008) and Mariya (born in 2015).
