Early Life and TrainingGaultier Capuçon was born into a family of musicians in Chambéry, France. He began playing the cello at the age of five and quickly displayed extraordinary talent. At the age of 18, he graduated from the prestigious Paris Conservatory, where he studied under renowned cellists Paul Tortelier, János Starker, and Yo-Yo Ma.
Early Success and International Acclaim
Capuçon's prodigious abilities were evident from an early age. By the age of 18, he had already performed in over 50 European cities, captivating audiences with his technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. In 1990, his international recognition reached new heights when he triumphed at the prestigious Rostropovich Competition.
