Childhood and Early LifeSimone Changeux was born in Toulon, France, in 1921 to Pierre Changeux, a French naval captain. Meeting and Marriage
In 1949, Simone won a literary prize for her book "The Patrol of the Saint Innocents." She traveled to Africa for research purposes, where she met geologist Vsevolod Sergeevich Goloubinoff. The couple married and returned to France, where Vsevolod adopted the pen name "Serge Golon."
Collaboration with Serge Golon
Unable to secure employment in France, the couple turned to writing. They collaborated on a book about domestic animals under the joint pseudonym "Serge and Anne Golon."

In 1956, Simone's desire for financial security led her to embark on a historical adventure novel. "Angélique, Marquise of the Angels," the first installment in the "Angélique" series, was the result.
