Anton Kanibolotsky: Legendary Ukrainian Goalkeeper
Early Life and Career:Anton Kanibolotsky was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and began his football journey at the tender age of 10 with the Kyiv-based club ATEC under the guidance of Coach A.P. Stuzhuks. He honed his skills in the Ukrainian Youth Football League, representing Lokomotiv Kyiv and Otradny.
Professional Debut with FC Dnipro:
In 2005, Kanibolotsky joined FC Dnipro's reserve team. Three years later, he made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League on November 23, 2008, in a home match against SC Tavriya Simferopol. To further develop his talent, he was loaned to FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih for the second half of the 2009/10 season.
Shakhtar Donetsk Saga:
In 2012, Kanibolotsky signed a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk, set to take effect on January 1, 2013, as he was set to join the Miners as a free agent. However, an unexpected turn of events saw Kanibolotsky terminate his contract with FC Dnipro and join Shakhtar immediately. He made his debut for Shakhtar on November 3, 2012, against FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhya, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory.
Post-Shakhtar Career:
Kanibolotsky departed Shakhtar in June 2017, joining FC Karabakh as a free agent. A year later, he moved to Polish club Miedź Legnica.
International Career:
Kanibolotsky represented Ukraine at the youth level, debuting for the U-21 team on February 5, 2008, in a 1-0 win over Sweden. He participated in the 2011 U-21 European Championship in Denmark and amassed 19 appearances for the youth side.
