Biography of Anton Klementyev
Anton Klementyev is a Russian ice hockey player who played as a defenseman. He started his career in 2006 in the First League, playing for Lokomotiv's junior team. He made his debut for the main team in the 2008/2009 season. Klementyev was selected 122nd overall in the 2009 NHL Draft by the New York Islanders.
On March 27, 2010, Klementyev played his only NHL game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Prior to his debut with the Islanders, he spent most of the season playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. On February 3, 2012, he terminated his contract with the New York Islanders.
Klementyev also represented Russia in the national youth team and participated in the 2010 World Championship. Despite his promising career, he decided to retire from professional hockey at the age of 27. He then pursued his education and graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture.
