José Cavanielles y Campos
José Cavanielles y Campos (1813-1868) was a Spanish historian, nephew of the botanist Antonio José Cavanilles. He studied law, practiced as an attorney, and served as a censor for Spanish theaters from 1851 to 1856.
Historical Works
Cavanielles' most significant work is his five-volume "Historia de España" (History of Spain), published in Madrid from 1860 to 1864. This comprehensive history covers Spanish history up to the reign of Philip II.
