Early Years and Career Beginnings

Born on October 13, 1977, in Naples, Italy, Di Natale began his football career at the youth academy of Empoli. He spent several years on loan before finally establishing himself in the first team. During his time at Empoli, he scored 49 goals in eight years.

Move to Udinese and International Success

In 2004, Empoli was relegated from Serie A, and Di Natale transferred to Udinese. It was during this time that he also started playing for the Italian national team. Di Natale quickly became an influential player at Udinese and was appointed as the team's captain.

On February 5, 2011, Di Natale scored his 100th goal for Udinese in Serie A matches. The goal came in a home game against Sampdoria, where he received a pass from Alexis Sanchez, eluded the defenders, and slotted the ball into the opposite corner.
