Biography of Ara Avetisyan

Ara Sergeevich Avetisyan was born on September 14, 1958, in Talin, Armenia. He is an Armenian statesman who has made significant contributions to his country.

Education and Early Career

Avetisyan attended the Yerevan State University, where he studied mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics from 1975 to 1980. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked as an engineer-designer at a project architectural institute from 1980 to 1982.

In 1983, Avetisyan pursued further education and enrolled in the postgraduate program at the Institute of Mechanics of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences. He successfully completed his studies and received a Doctorate in Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

Academic and Scientific Achievements

Avetisyan's academic career began in 1986 when he became a junior research fellow at the Institute of Mechanics of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences. He then advanced to the position of senior research fellow in 1988, where he conducted groundbreaking research in the field of mechanics.

Throughout his career, Avetisyan has authored 47 scientific articles, showcasing his expertise and knowledge in the field. In recognition of his contributions, he was elected as a Corresponding Member of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences in 2006.

Professional and Political Roles

Avetisyan's professional journey also involved teaching and leadership roles. From 1988 to 1995, he served as a lecturer at the Yerevan State University and the Armenian Pedagogical Institute named after Hovhannes Abovian.

In 1994, Avetisyan became the Deputy Chief Editor of the journal "Mechanics" published by the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. In 2005, he was promoted to the position of Chief Editor, overseeing the publication's editorial direction.

Avetisyan's dedication to education and science led to his appointment as the Head of the General Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia from 1996 to 2000. He also joined the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) as a member.

Since 2000, Avetisyan has taken on the role of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, where he has played a crucial role in shaping the country's education policies. Additionally, since 2006, he has served as the Chairman of the National Committee of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, further advancing the field in Armenia.
