As a child, he moved with his parents to Maribor, Slovenia, where he completed high school. There, he received his first training in theater.

Another passion of Bajraktaraj's was literature, which he discovered while tending livestock in the mountains of his native Istinic and listening to the Albanian songs of legendary warriors.
