Arman Vardanyan, a Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler of Armenian heritage, has achieved notable success throughout his career.

A Journey in Sports

Born into a family of educators, Arman began his wrestling journey in Armenia. However, due to limited opportunities, he accepted an offer to represent Ukraine in 1999 and relocated to Zaporizhzhia. Under the tutelage of esteemed coaches, Arman honed his skills and quickly ascended the ranks.

International Triumphs

Competing in the 66 kg weight category until 2012, Arman became a three-time European medalist, claiming gold in 2004 and 2008. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he secured a bronze medal, earning Ukraine its fourth bronze distinction at the Games. After transitioning to the 71 kg category in 2014, Arman continued to excel, winning a silver medal at the 2015 World Championship.

Political Involvement

Beyond wrestling, Arman has ventured into politics. He campaigned for a seat in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Council in 2010 and ran for parliament in 2012 on behalf of the Batkivshchyna party. Subsequently, he became an advisor to MP Nikolai Frolov and director of Frolov's charitable foundation.
