Biography of Artem Pryma

Artem Pryma is a Ukrainian biathlete who has been involved in the sport since 2002. He has participated in international competitions since 2006, starting with junior events. In 2008, he won a bronze medal in the relay at the European Junior Championships and achieved his best individual result, finishing 15th in the same tournament.

Pryma has had a successful career, becoming a three-time champion at the Winter Universiade in 2011. He has also been a champion (2011, 2018) and multiple-time medalist at the European Championships. From the 2009/10 season, he has competed in the IBU Cup and made his World Cup debut in the same season, finishing 41st in the sprint event in Ruhpolding.

It was in the 2010/11 season that Pryma earned his first World Cup points. His best individual result in the races was a fifth-place finish in the sprint event in Oberhof during the 2013/14 season. In the overall standings, his best result came in the 2016/17 season when he finished in 37th place.

Pryma has also represented Ukraine in multiple World Championships, with his best result being 22nd place in the sprint event in 2016. He has also achieved a sixth-place finish in the relay event in 2017. As for his Olympic participation, Pryma competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and achieved his best result in the sprint event, finishing in 32nd place.

Artem Pryma comes from a sporting family, as his older brother Roman Pryma was also a professional biathlete and later became a coach.
