Early Life and Education
Artur Arkadyevich Karakozov was born in 1964 in Magnitogorsk, Russia. He later moved to Donetsk, Ukraine, with his parents. In 1981, he graduated from Donetsk Secondary School No. 26 with a gold medal. In 1986, he graduated with honors from the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Technology and Technology of Exploration of Mineral Deposits.
Academic Career at DonNTU
From 1986 to 1995, Karakozov worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, and associate professor in the Department of Technology and Technology of Geological Exploration (TTGR) at the Donetsk National Technical University (DonNTU). In 1993, he obtained his candidate degree from the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute with a dissertation entitled "Development and Research of Percussion Mechanisms for Eliminating Stuck Pipes in a Well." In December 2000, he became the head of the TTGR department.
Dekan and Faculty Reorganization
On October 14, 2008, Karakozov was elected as the Dean of the Mining and Geological Faculty. However, in 2009, the faculty was merged with the Mining Faculty to form the Institute of Mining and Geology. During the restructuring, Karakozov was appointed as Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific Affairs. In 2010, the Institute was reorganized, and the Mining and Geological Faculty was re-established. Karakozov was elected as its Dean once again.
Research and Inventions
Karakozov is known for his extensive research and invention work. He has published over 250 scientific papers, including 1 monograph, 4 textbooks, and 111 patents and author's certificates. Under his scientific guidance, 2 doctoral dissertations have been defended. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Development of Scientific Fundamentals for the Creation of Means and Technologies for Drilling Exploration Wells on the Shelf."
Awards and Recognition
In 2006, Karakozov was awarded the "Creator" badge and diploma by the State Department of Intellectual Property of Ukraine for his inventive activities. In 2010, he received the silver statuette "Saint George" at the 11th International Forum "High Technologies of the 21st Century" in Moscow, jointly with O. I. Kalinichenko, for developing hydroelectric installations for drilling wells on the shelf.
