Early Life and Education

Born in Riga, Latvia, the actress's journey began in the Riga studio of the Academic Theatre named after J. Rainis. Upon graduating in 1962, she embarked on her acting career at the Liepaja Drama Theater.

Theatre Career

In 1968, she joined the elite ranks of the Academic Theatre of Drama of the Latvian SSR named after A. Upitis. Her exceptional talent earned her the coveted title of Meritorious Artist of the Latvian SSR in 1978.

Film Success

The actress's cinematic debut occurred in 1961 with "Obmanutyye" ("The Deceived"). Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, she graced the silver screen in a plethora of films, including "On Zhyv" ("He is Alive") in 1964, "Tanets motylka" ("Dance of the Moth") in 1972, and "Opoznaniye" ("Identification") in 1973.

Her career reached its zenith with her portrayal of Laura in the 1976 film "Sonata nad Ozerom" ("Sonata Over the Lake"). This critically acclaimed role garnered her the prestigious State Prize of the Latvian SSR in 1977.

In the 1980s and beyond, the actress continued to enchant audiences with her captivating performances in films such as "Zhavorki" ("Larks") and "Dvoynik" ("Double").
