Early Life and Career

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1969, Coleman Domingo initially pursued other interests before finding his true calling in the arts. Raised by a working-class family, he graduated from Overbrook High School and studied journalism at Temple University.

Drawn to the stage, Domingo moved to San Francisco where he immersed himself in theater. His breakout role came in the musical "Passing Strange," earning him an Obie Award in 2007. He also wrote and directed his own autobiographical play, "A Boy and His Soul," which garnered critical acclaim.

Film Breakthrough

Domingo's film career began with small roles in television series, including "Law & Order" and "Nash Bridges." His feature film debut came in 1998 with "Around the Fire." He gained further recognition in films such as "Miracle at St. Anna," "Lincoln," and "The Butler."

"Fear the Walking Dead" and Beyond

Domingo's star rose with his portrayal of Victor Strand in the post-apocalyptic drama "Fear the Walking Dead." The series ran for eight seasons, ending in 2023. He also starred in "Lucifer" as Father Frank Lawrence and in the critically acclaimed anthology series "The Twilight Zone."
