Biography of Austin Aries

Austin Aries is a professional American wrestler who has made a name for himself in various wrestling promotions. He is best known for his time in the Ring of Honor (ROH) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNAW).

Training and Early Career

Aries began training for the ring under the guidance of Eddie Sharkey and Terry Fox in 2000. He made his debut on November 24, 2000, facing Johnny "Sheriff" Emerald in a match. He competed in various matches in the central regions of the western part of the country but found success on the east coast.

Rise to Prominence

Aries reached the finals of the 'Super 8' championship on the east coast, where he unfortunately suffered a defeat against Christopher Daniels. Despite this setback, Aries caught the attention of Ring of Honor (ROH) and made his debut at the 'ROH: Reborn Stage 2' event in Chicago, Illinois on April 24, 2004. Although he did not succeed in his first match, Aries continued to strive for success.

Generation Next and TNA

Aries joined Alex Shelley, Roderick Strong, and Jack Evans to form a new group known as 'Generation Next.' This group quickly gained attention and became a force to be reckoned with in the wrestling world. In July 2005, TNAW organized an online poll to determine a worthy opponent for the X Division Champion, Christopher Daniels. Aries emerged as the winner, impressing TNAW agents with his skills. He eventually signed a contract with TNAW and made his debut in a match against Roderick Strong at the 'Unbreakable' event on September 11, 2005.

Return to ROH and The Foundation

After his departure from TNA, Aries returned to ROH and continues to compete to this day. In April 2008, he opened a training school for wrestlers called The Foundation in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, with the help of his friend and former trainer Terry Fox.

Personal Life and Legacy

Aries' ring name is a combination of his zodiac sign, Taurus, and the name of one of his childhood idols, Austin Idol. He even has a tattoo of the Chinese symbol for Taurus on his arm.
