Early Life and Football Education

Born in Switzerland to an Ivorian father who played professionally, Soumaila Bamâba was exposed to multiple sports as a child, including judo, athletics, and football. However, influenced by his father's career, Bamâba ultimately focused on football. He honed his skills through prestigious football academies in Paris and Boulogne-Billancourt.

Joining Paris Saint-Germain

In 2009, Bamâba joined the youth system of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He progressed rapidly through the ranks, becoming a regular starter in the Championnat de France Amateur 2 (CFA2). In 2017, he made his debut for PSG's first team in the Coupe de France.

Breakthrough into the First Team

The following season, Bamâba began training consistently with PSG's senior squad. He made his Ligue 2 debut in October 2018 and played a handful of games that season. However, it was the 2019/20 campaign that proved to be his breakthrough year, as he established himself as a key member of the team.

Establishing Himself as a Regular Starter

Bamâba played in a variety of positions during the 2019/20 season, but he solidified his role as a central defender in 2020/21. Despite missing half of the 2021/22 season due to a serious injury, he returned in January 2022 and has remained a consistent performer since.

International Career

Despite being born in Switzerland, Bamâba has chosen to represent Ivory Coast internationally, following in his father's footsteps. He has not yet received a senior cap for the Elephants.
