Babajide Collins

Early Life and Career

Babajide Collins, a Nigerian striker, began his football journey at Ibedei FC. In 2006, at the tender age of 16, he joined Ikast FS, the youth academy of FC Midtjylland. Despite being acquired for the first team, FIFA regulations prohibited non-European players under the age of 18 from playing in professional leagues. Thus, Collins showcased his talent in the youth setup.

FC Midtjylland

Collins' impressive performances earned him a place in Midtjylland's senior squad the following season. In his third game for the club, he netted his maiden goal against AaB on April 5, 2007. Over two seasons, he made 52 appearances and scored 10 goals for Midtjylland before joining Vejle BK on a six-month loan.

Loan Spells in Vejle BK and Alania Vladikavkaz

Upon returning to Midtjylland, Collins tallied 6 goals in 16 appearances, including 12 league games. In August, he caught the attention of Russian club Alania Vladikavkaz. On August 25, he joined Alania on loan and expressed his eagerness to learn the local Ossetian language.

Impressive Debut and Challenges in Russia

Collins made his Alania debut on September 11, scoring a crucial goal that led to a 2-1 victory over FC Sibir Novosibirsk. He was voted the club's best summer signing by fans. However, injuries plagued Collins' time at Alania. He suffered a concussion in a game against FC Krylia Sovetov and a shoulder injury against FC Spartak Moscow.

Departure from Alania and Move to Dacia

With Alania only allowed to field a maximum of three foreign players in the First Division, Collins left the club and signed a six-month contract with Moldovan side FC Dacia Chişinău.

Kazakh Adventure at Ordabasy

In the summer of 2011, Collins embarked on a loan spell at FC Ordabasy in Kazakhstan.
