Early Life and Football CareerBarış Özbek was born in Germany, but his footballing journey began with the youth academy of BG Schwerin in his hometown. In 2003, he moved to TuS Hordel and a year later joined the youth system of Rot-Weiß Essen in the German Regionalliga.
Breakthrough with Rot-Weiss Essen
Özbek made his professional debut for Rot-Weiß Essen in 2005 and quickly established himself as a key player. In his debut season, he featured in 13 matches, while in the following season, he scored his first goal and played in 26 games.
Call-Up to Galatasaray and Turkish League Success
In 2007, Özbek received a call-up from the Turkish club Galatasaray, where he embarked on a successful chapter in his career. In his first season with the Istanbul giants, he played 38 matches, netting three goals. He contributed to Galatasaray's Turkish Süper Lig title victory and helped them secure the Turkish Super Cup.
