Born in the Netherlands, pianist and composer, Adam Berman is a Dutch-Israeli musical maestro. He initially studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory under Jaap Spaanderman (piano) and Bertus van Lier (composition). Later, he honed his piano skills under Theo Bruins and Alfred Brendel. Berman's exceptional talent was acknowledged when he won first prize at the Gaudeamus International Interpreters Competition in 1970.

Berman's pianistic repertoire showcases his mastery of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, and particularly Schubert. His repertoire extends to 20th-century composers, notably Dutch and Israeli musicians. His discography includes "Kibbutz Composers" (1985), highlighting his dedication to Israeli music. Berman's compositional output draws inspiration from his experiences as a performer. He has composed original cadenzas for all of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven's piano concertos. Additionally, he has completed unfinished works by composers of the past, such as Bach's "Art of Fugue," Mozart's Piano Sonata in D major for Four Hands (K357), Schubert's unfinished piano sonatas, and Glinka's Viola Sonata.
