Beylar Agayev: National Hero of Azerbaijan
Beylar Agayev was an Azerbaijani military commander and National Hero of Azerbaijan. He played a pivotal role in the First Karabakh War.
Early Life and Education
Beylar Agayev was born in the village of Karaagach, Qubadli District, on February 3, 1969. He graduated from high school in 1985.
Military Service
In 1987, Agayev entered military service. He served in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany until 1989, when he returned to his hometown. In 1990, he enrolled in the Azerbaijan State University of Engineering.
Karabakh War
With the outbreak of the Karabakh War, Agayev left university in 1992 and volunteered for the front. He actively participated in the battles for Lachin.
Death and Legacy
On August 6, 1992, Agayev was killed in action. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 350 of December 7, 1992, Agayev Beylar Tapdyg oglu was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
He was buried in the Alley of Martyrs in his hometown of Karaagach. At the time of his death, Agayev was unmarried. A school in Karaagach was named in his honor.
