Biography of Benjamin Lauth
Benjamin Lauth is a German footballer and striker for the club "Ferencváros". He began his football career at the age of 6, playing for the youth team "SF Fischbachau" until he moved to Munich in 1992. He progressed through all age categories in the youth academy of "Munich 1860" before joining the reserve team in 2000. After playing for two years in the regional leagues, Lauth was called up to the first team.
Debut in Professional Football
Lauth made his professional debut in the last match of the 2001-2002 season, coming on as a substitute in the 87th minute against "Borussia Mönchengladbach". In the following season, he played 32 matches and scored 13 goals. His goal scored in an overhead kick was recognized as the best goal of 2002 in Germany. In the 2003-2004 season, Lauth became a regular player for the first team. On November 1, 2003, he scored his 1,000th goal for "Munich 1860" in the Bundesliga. He played 28 matches that season and scored 8 goals, but the team was unable to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
Moves to Hamburg and Stuttgart
After the relegation of "Munich 1860" from the Bundesliga, Lauth moved to "Hamburg". However, his first season at the club was plagued by injuries, and he only played 10 matches in the 2004-2005 season. In the winter of 2007, Lauth was loaned to "Stuttgart". During his loan spell, he played 11 matches in the German league and scored 1 goal. He also played several cup matches and won the German championship and reached the final of the national cup with "Stuttgart" at the end of that season.
Return to Munich 1860
After the championship-winning season, Lauth returned to "Munich 1860" and signed a contract until 2011. In his first season back at the club, he was the only player to feature in all official matches. He scored 15 goals in 34 matches that season and was also named vice-captain of the team. Due to the captain's injury, Lauth often led the team onto the field as the captain.
International Career
On December 16, 2002, Lauth made his first appearance for the German national team in a charity match against a team of Bundesliga foreigners. However, this match is not considered an official international match. His first official international match for Germany was on February 12, 2003, against the Spanish national team. Lauth represented his country in a total of 5 matches but was unable to score a goal.
