Biography of Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel is an American writer and television personality. She was born on November 4, 1970, in New York City. Frankel graduated from high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1988. She went on to receive her education from the National Gourmet Institute for Healthy and Culinary Arts in New York City, New York University, and Boston University.

Early Life and Career

Bethenny Frankel is the only daughter of horse trainer Robert J. Frankel. Her father came from a Jewish family, and her mother later converted to Judaism. Frankel's parents divorced when she was four years old, and she had a difficult childhood due to her mother's drinking and constant arguments with her stepfather.

After completing her education, Frankel began working as an assistant producer on the popular television series "Saved by the Bell." Her television and film career officially started in 1993 when she appeared in the short film "Soiree Sans Hors D'oeuvres." She went on to star in the films "Hollywood Hills 90028" in 1994 and "Wish Me Luck" in 1995.

In 2005, Frankel participated in the reality TV show "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" and made it to the final. Although the show itself did not gain much popularity, Frankel stood out with her business acumen. In 2008, she was invited to join the cast of "The Real Housewives of New York City."

Writing and Business Ventures

In March 2009, Frankel published her first book, "Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting." This was followed by her second book, "The SkinnyGirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life," in December 2009. Frankel also released a DVD called "Body by Bethenny," featuring a collection of exercise routines. Around the same time, her audiobook "The Skinnygirl Rules" was also released.

In June 2010, Frankel launched her own reality TV show, "Bethenny Getting Married?" The show documented her engagement, wedding, and the birth of her daughter. The premiere episode received high ratings, exceeding the expectations of the Bravo network. In September of that year, Frankel announced that she would not be returning to "The Real Housewives of New York City" for personal reasons.

In February 2011, Frankel became the main protagonist of her own show, "Bethenny Ever After," which detailed her first year of married life and motherhood. She also participated in the reality show "Skating with the Stars" in November 2011 and reached the final.

In March 2011, Frankel released her third book, "A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life," which spent several weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. In April 2011, she sold her brand "Skinnygirls" to Fortune Brands' Beam Global for $100 million. However, in September 2011, "Whole Foods Market" stopped selling "Skinnygirl" products due to concerns about the ingredients.

Personal Life

In 1994, Frankel married entertainment industry executive Peter Sussman. They divorced in 1997. In late 2008, she met Jason Hoppy, and they got married 11 months later. However, their marriage ended in divorce in December 2012, and Frankel is currently in the process of finalizing the divorce.
