Biography of Bibisara Beishenalieva
Bibisara Beishenalieva was a Kyrgyz Soviet ballerina, dancer, and teacher. She was born on September 15, 1926 (according to other sources - May 17, 1926, April 8, 1926) in the village of Tash-Tyube, which is now part of the Alamudun District, Chui Region, Kyrgyz Republic. She came from a peasant family and belonged to the Kyrgyz nationality.
Early Career
Beishenalieva received her training under the guidance of the renowned Russian ballerina Agrippina Vaganova. Her debut took place in 1939 at the Bolshoi Theatre. After graduating from the Leningrad Choreographic School in 1941, she became a soloist at the Kyrgyz Theatre of Opera and Ballet. She performed leading roles in Kyrgyz national ballets such as "Cholpon" and "Anar," as well as in classical ballets including "Swan Lake," "The Red Poppy," "Sleeping Beauty," and others.
Teaching Career
From 1949, Beishenalieva taught at the Music and Choreographic School in the city of Frunze (now Bishkek). She shared her knowledge and skills with aspiring dancers, nurturing the next generation of ballet talent.
Political Involvement
In addition to her contributions to the arts, Beishenalieva also served as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (6th and 7th convocations) and the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR. Her dedication to both her artistic and political pursuits showcased her commitment to her country and its people.
Legacy
Bibisara Beishenalieva passed away on May 11, 1973 (according to other sources - May 10). She was laid to rest at the Ala-Archa Cemetery in Bishkek. Her talent, discipline, and significant contributions to ballet education in Kyrgyzstan have left a lasting impact on the country's cultural heritage. She is remembered as the first prima ballerina of Kyrgyzstan and was honored as a People's Artist of the USSR in 1958.
