Torbert spent part of her childhood in Lexington, Kentucky, where her father was a professor at the University of Kentucky. She also attended Kelsey Elementary School in The Pas, Manitoba, and lived in Dauphin, Manitoba, before eventually settling in Winnipeg.

Music Career

Torbert began her musical journey by playing in punk bands Gorilla Gorilla and Chrome Dog. After releasing her first solo album, "Bif Naked," in 1995, she gained recognition for her powerful vocals and autobiographical lyrics.
