Blake Austin Griffin was born on March 16, 1989, in the United States. He is an American basketball player who played for the 'Los Angeles Clippers' in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Griffin was the first player selected in the 2009 NBA Draft.
College Career
During his college years, Griffin played basketball at a professional level for the 'Oklahoma Sooners' team. His game was praised by agents of the 'Associated Press', and he was the recipient of the John Wooden Award, Naismith Award, and the Sporting News Player of the Year for the 2008-2009 season.
Early Success
Griffin's success in sports started even before college. In his high school years, he led his school team to state-level competitions four times. In the 2004-2005 season, Griffin achieved an average of 13.6 points per game, helping his team secure another title. On April 7, 2009, Griffin announced his participation in the NBA Draft and was selected as the first overall pick by the 'Los Angeles Clippers'.
