Robert Patrick Casey Jr., an American politician, has served as the United States Senator from Pennsylvania since 2007. A member of the Democratic Party, Casey is the son of the former Governor of Pennsylvania, Robert Casey Sr.
Education and Early Career
Casey completed his undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross in 1982, earning a degree in Political Science. He later pursued a Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University of America, graduating in 1988.
Pennsylvania Politics
Casey's political career in Pennsylvania began with his election as State Auditor General in 1997. He served in this role until 2005, during which time he became known for his diligent audits and oversight of state finances. In 2005, Casey was elected State Treasurer of Pennsylvania, a position he held until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2006.
