Early Life and EducationBorn in Belgrade, Serbia on November 17, 1981, Bojana Novaković relocated to Australia with her family in 1988. Inspired by her experiences growing up in a politically turbulent region, she initially aspired to become a doctor or social worker. However, her passion for acting emerged during her secondary school years in Sydney.
After graduating high school, Novaković pursued her artistic aspirations by enrolling at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Film and Television Career
Novaković made her acting debut in the early 2000s with appearances in popular Australian television series such as "Murder Call," "Heartbreak High," "Wildside," and "All Saints." Her first film role came in the 2000 drama "The Monkey's Mask," starring alongside Abbie Cornish and Susie Porter.
She returned to the big screen in 2004 with the film "Thunderstruck," followed by "Solo" in 2006, where she collaborated with director Morgan O'Neill, with whom she had previously worked on the TV series "Water Rats" and "All Saints."
Hollywood Breakthrough
Novaković gained international recognition with her role in Sam Raimi's 2009 horror film "Drag Me to Hell." She went on to star alongside Mel Gibson and Danny Huston in Martin Campbell's 2010 action thriller "Edge of Darkness." The same year, she appeared in the horror film "Devil," directed by John Eric Dowdle.
In 2011, she joined the cast of the American television series "Shameless," playing a recurring role alongside William H. Macy, Emily Rossum, Ethan Cutkosky, Jeremy Allen White, and Cameron Monaghan.

Novaković has continued to work in both film and television, including appearances in "Rake" (2014), "From Darkness" (2015), and the HBO series "Westworld" (2016-present).
