Biography of Boris Alaverdyan

Boris Grigoryevich Alaverdyan was born on May 15, 1955, in Stepanakert, NKR. He is a political and state figure in the NKR.

Early Life and Education

In 1972, Alaverdyan graduated from the Stepanakert Secondary School. He then enrolled in the Architectural and Construction Faculty of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, specializing in engineering-economics of construction production. In 1986, he underwent retraining at the Voznesensky Financial and Economic Institute in Leningrad, specializing in organizing construction production.

Career

From 1978 to 1979, Alaverdyan worked at the Octyabrskoye District Branch of the Construction Bank of the USSR (Armenian SSR). From 1979 to 1981, he worked as a senior engineer in the directorate of the under-construction automobile repair plant in Stepanakert.

From 1981 to 1986, Alaverdyan held the position of head of the production-technical department of Construction Trust No. 9. From 1986 to 1993, he served as the chairman of the united committee of the Trade Union of Builders of Nagorno-Karabakh.

From 1993 to 1994, Alaverdyan worked as the chief engineer in the production-technical department of the Construction Committee of NKR. From 1994 to 1995, he was the chief specialist of the Ministry of Construction of NKR.

From 1995 to 1996, Alaverdyan worked as the head of the production-technical department of the Ministry of Construction of NKR. From 1996 to 2002, he held the position of head of the socio-economic department of the Office of the President of NKR.

From 2002 to 2004, Alaverdyan served as the head of the economic department of the Office of the President of NKR. From 2004 to 2006, he was the Minister of Development of Production Infrastructure and Urban Development of NKR.
