Biography of Boris Kodjoe
Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe, an actor of Austrian descent and former model, was born on March 8, 1973, in Vienna, Austria. His mother, Ursula, is a psychologist of German nationality, and his father, Eric Kodjoe, is a doctor from Ghana. Boris grew up in the outskirts of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, after his parents divorced when he was six years old.
Acting Career
Boris Kodjoe is known for his roles in various TV shows and movies. His most famous role to date is Damon Carter in the television series "Soul Food" (2000-2004), where he portrayed a courier turned sports agent for five seasons. He has also appeared in shows like "Women's Murder Club" (2007), "Nip/Tuck" (2007), and played the character Steven Bloom in NBC's spy drama "Undercovers" (2010). In addition to his TV work, Boris played Luther in the film "Resident Evil: Afterlife" (2010).
Personal Life
On May 21, 2005, Boris married his co-star Nicole Ari Parker from the TV series "Soul Food." The wedding ceremony took place in Gundelfingen, Germany. They have two children together. Their first-born, Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe, was born on March 5, 2005, with a diagnosis of spina bifida, a congenital disorder that often comes with other health issues. Boris and Nicole established a foundation in her name and are actively raising funds for expensive experimental treatments to help Sophie and other children facing similar health challenges. Their second child, Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe, was born on October 31, 2006.
Education and Sports Career
Boris Kodjoe attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, on a sports scholarship. He played tennis for the university's men's team and achieved the 9th highest number of singles victories in the history of the university. Boris's sports career came to an end due to a back injury, but he quickly signed with a modeling agency and transitioned into the world of acting.

In 2002, Boris Kodjoe was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People magazine. He has appeared in films such as "Brown Sugar" (2002), "The Gospel" (2005), and "Surrogates" (2009).
