Birth and Family
Boris Alexandrovich Vrevsky was born in Paris in 1805 as the illegitimate son of Prince Alexander Borisovich Kurakin and his serf, Akulina Samoylova. His father bestowed upon him the surname Vrevsky, derived from the family estate in the Pskov Governorate. Through his father's intervention, Vrevsky later received the title of Baron from the Austrian emperor.
Education and Military Service
Vrevsky received his education at the Noble Boarding School of St. Petersburg University, concurrently studying with Alexander Pushkin's brother, Lev. He subsequently served in the Izmailovsky Guards Regiment, eventually retiring to settle in his estate in Golubovo.
Marriage and Family Life
On July 7, 1831, he wed Evpraksiya Vrevskaya, a neighbor from the Trigorskoye estate. The couple had eleven children together. They resided in the Golubovo estate, situated approximately thirty-five miles from Trigorskoye.
Relationship with Pushkin
Alexander Pushkin maintained a close acquaintance with the Vrevsky family. He frequently visited their home, assisted in the design of their garden, and even participated in pond excavation, as recorded by Puškin's biographer, VV Veresaev.
Late Life and Legacy
Boris Alexandrovich Vrevsky passed away in 1888. His friendship with Pushkin cemented his legacy as a pivotal figure in the poet's life and literary circle.
