Early Life and Career
Kris Draper is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played the center position throughout his career. In the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers selected him 6th overall in the first round.
NHL Career
Draper began his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers but later joined the Detroit Red Wings as a free agent in 2000. He played a significant role in Detroit's 2002 Stanley Cup victory. Draper also played for the Phoenix Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs before retiring in 2011.
Junior Career
Before entering the NHL, Draper had an impressive junior career with the Kitchener Rangers. He received the Bobbie Smith Trophy in 1996 as the Ontario Hockey League's Most Outstanding Player and was named the CHL Player of the Year.
