Biography of Bradley Greive
Australian WriterBradley Greive is an Australian writer, born in 1970 in Tasmania. He spent his childhood in Scotland, England, Wales, Hong Kong, and Singapore. After returning to Australia, he completed his education at the Royal Military College in Duntroon. He also studied at the Royal Thai Military Academy as part of an exchange program.
Military Career
From 1990, Greive served as an officer in the Australian Army's Parachute Regiment. He commanded a platoon of paratroopers in the 3rd Battalion (Airborne Battalion 3RAR). However, due to an illness in 1992, he was forced to leave the military with the rank of lieutenant.
Writing Career
Greive has written eight books, none of which were initially published. His ninth book also faced difficulties in finding a publisher, but it became an instant bestseller upon its release. In addition to being a writer, Greive is also known as an artist and caricaturist.
Space Tourist Training
In 2004, Greive underwent training at the Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City as a potential candidate for space tourism. However, his height of 190 cm and weight exceeding the maximum limit by 15 kg posed challenges. He struggled to fit into the spacesuit, and the centrifuge during the tests broke down.
Unique Genre of Books
Greive creates books in a highly original genre known as "photo-books." Each page features a black and white photograph of an animal accompanied by the author's philosophical commentary. The texts are written with humor and life wisdom, while the photographs are carefully selected. This style has brought Greive worldwide recognition, making him one of the most famous Australian writers.
Bibliography
Greive's books have been published in more than 115 countries, with a total circulation of over 17 million copies. The following is an incomplete list of his works, which have been reissued multiple times in both hardcover and paperback editions.
