Biography of Brandi Sherwood
Brandi Sherwood, an American model and the winner of the Miss USA title in 1997, was born in 1971 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She first won the Young Miss USA title in 1989 and later went on to become Miss USA in 1997. To this day, Brandi remains the first and only holder of both these titles.
Modeling Career
Like any national beauty queen, Brandi Sherwood was drawn into the modeling industry. Her modeling career began in 1996. In the same year, Brandi found herself involved in a scandalous incident related to her friend Shannon Marketic and the royal family of Brunei. A lawsuit was filed against Shannon Marketic for allegedly being unlawfully held against her will for 30 days. Brandi Sherwood was also on the same trip, which was originally a promotional campaign. The truth of the girl's statement was never determined, and the case was closed. However, this did not hinder Brandi Sherwood from later taking the crown as the first beauty queen of the USA, succeeding Shannon Marketic.
Philanthropic Work and Acting Career
As Miss USA, Brandi participated in several social projects, including volunteering for the Special Olympics and various children's and teenage social programs. Apart from her modeling career, Sherwood also dabbled in acting. She appeared in TV series such as "The Bold and the Beautiful" (1987 - 2009), "Diagnosis: Murder" (1993 - 2001), and "Son of the Beach" (2000 - 2001). She also had roles in movies, including the 2001 horror film "Soulkeeper" and the 2003 adventure film "Raptor Island." In 2004, Brandi took part in the filming of the TV movie "Miss USA," directed by Chuck Stream. She also had a small role in Marek Probosz's 2004 film "Y.M.I."
