Biography of Brian Nicholas McFadden
Brian Nicholas McFadden, an Irish musician and singer, was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1980. From a young age, Brian was artistic, active, and very attractive and always tried to draw attention to himself - he performed in school theater, pursued music, was known as a joker, and participated in all public entertainment events.
Early Career
In 1998, while working at McDonald's, McFadden became involved in a new project by popular manager and producer Louis Walsh - another boy band. The group, named 'Westside', consisting of Brian and four other brave guys, immediately started working as the opening act for 'Boyzone' (also Walsh's project) in a concert tour of Britain and Ireland. Their first success was explosive and even somewhat unexpected - they outperformed and outshone their senior colleagues from 'Boyzone', according to the influential British music magazine 'Smash Hits'. They were named the "Best Touring Group" at the time. The name was soon changed to 'Westlife', and their debut self-titled album was released in 1999. The young heartthrobs quickly gained a huge army of fans, especially female fans, and Brian, as the lead vocalist of the group, soon became known as the group's joker. Moreover, he also acquired the reputation of the "heartbreaker" of the group. Brian McFadden's numerous romances, intrigues, and relationships became the subject of jokes, press articles, and the fascination of fans.
Personal Life and Solo Career
In early 2002, Brian put an end to all rumors and speculation by marrying Kerry Katona, a vocalist from the group 'Atomic Kitten'. By that time, the couple already had a child - six-month-old daughter Molly. A couple of years later, in 2003, their second daughter, Lilly Sue, was born. Brian remained with the group until 2004, recording five albums with them, after which he embarked on a solo career. However, the details of his departure were surrounded by various rumors, ranging from being "kicked out" to Walsh and Ronan Keating (the project leader) almost begging him to stay. The musician himself later revealed that shortly before leaving the group, he was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and physical exhaustion. "I was on the brink of collapse. I was drinking heavily in the last days of my collaboration with the group, I was so unhappy," McFadden said. "All I wanted at that moment was to live a normal life. I can't explain what was happening to me; it was a real nervous breakdown. All I could do then was call Kerry. She came for me, took me home..."
The happy union with Kerry lasted until 2004, and their protracted divorce was finally finalized in 2006. Brian McFadden's first solo single, 'Real To Me', was released in September 2004. The eponymous song was written by him and former Robbie Williams songwriter Guy Chambers. In the same year, his debut solo album, 'Irish Son', was released. His second major studio work, the album 'Set in Stone', was released in 2008.
Later Personal Life and Career
Delta Goodrem, a New Zealand singer, became the next love interest of McFadden. Their engagement was announced in 2007. After some contemplation, Brian and Delta decided to settle in the United States instead of Australia as the couple initially planned. It is known that the couple purchased a joint home in Los Angeles. McFadden's new album, 'Wall Of Soundz', which is a joint project with Robert Conley, is set to be released in early 2010. In addition to his studio and concert work, Brian is a frequent guest on British and Australian television, participating in popular projects such as the Australian 'Football Superstar', 'Australian Idol' (as a judge), and many others.
